Benefits of building a den – a great way to have fun, whatever the weather!
No matter a child’s age, building a den is a great way to use their imagination, escape to another world and have fun!
There are lots of benefits to building a den, such as:
- There is no limit to how many people can join in – a child can build a den on their own, with parents or a sibling, or as a group with friends.
- You can use what you have at home – a couple of chairs and a sheet, the kitchen table, some umbrellas or even old cardboard boxes can be used to create the perfect hideaway.
- You can build a den indoors or outside – den-building is an excellent all-weather activity, so there’s no need to wait for a sunny day to give it a go.
- Creating the den is just the start of the adventure – playing in a den can allow children to use their imagination and creativity … A den could be a spaceship travelling through galaxies, a pirate cave on a tropical island, and beyond!
